KFC’s role in Japanese Christmas has been well documented online. Some year some genius marketing person decided to play off the Western world’s portrait of a holiday feast by advertising a KFC chicken bucket as the ideal Christmas meal. It worked. The Japanese public bought it hook like and sinker. Now, KFC is a high demand Christmas food available only by pre-order and at premium prices half the time. Oh, and to get everyone into the spirit of things, all the statues of Colonel Sanders that stand jovial outside the KFC locations nationwide all get a Santa makeover for the season. Lovely.
I’ll pass on the $56 roast chicken. Too rich for my blood.Source: wildmushroomland.com
